Mr. Swerts, CRISC, CISA, CGEIT, PMP, is an accountant and business administrator. He holds an MBA degree in Business Management from one of Brazil’s leading business schools, the Brazilian Capital Markets Institute based in Rio de Janeiro (Ibmec-RJ). He started his professional career at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and has accumulated 24 years of experience in risk management consulting projects, systems audits, outsourcing of internal audit functions, and compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX), among others. He is a member of the ISACA as a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified in the Governance or Enterprise IT and is also certified in Risk and Information Systems Control. Furthermore, he is a member of the Project Management Institute - PMI as a Project Management Professional.

He initiated, developed and coordinated the area of business risk management and systems audit consulting at the Rio de Janeiro office of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. He has vast experience with international control standards, notably COSO (widely used in SOX compliance engagements), CobiT and ISO 17799. Among his clients are the B2W Group (Americanas.com), the real estate concern Brookfield, mining giant BHP Billiton, a major gas concern Supergasbrás, the Brazilian Central Bank (BACEN), Banco Opportunity, tobacco concern Souza Cruz S.A., electric power player Light and pulp concern Jari Celulose, among others.
